Oats, grains and legumes are also excellent sources of fiber that may help in the fight against the rise of LDL cholesterol, possibly reducing the risk of heart disease.
Factors that affect cholesterol
Contrary to widespread belief, it is not just the food that must be taken into consideration when it comes to cholesterol high. There are actually many factors that affect the condition. One is the age and sex. The elderly are most affected by increased levels of cholesterol because their bodies slow down the process. Another factor is the level of physical activity. Exercise can help lower LDL cholesterol. Also, it can help strengthen the body and toning muscles.
